Osmose’s identity lies in its custom, Augmented Keyboard Action (A.K.A.) keybed, its build quality, and a fun, ergonomic playing experience. These elements make this expressive synthesizer a reinterpretation of the work of traditional acoustic instrument makers.

Developed by Expressive E, the Augmented Keyboard Action (A.K.A.) is the technology inside every key of Osmose. It offers a seamless connection between every gesture played by the musician & the resulting sound.
This means that despite being an electronic synthesizer, Osmose feels more like an acoustic instrument to play. Press, bend, shake, strum, and more to create sounds that are truly yours.

We designed Osmose’s keybed to pick up every gesture & performance nuance. We needed a sound engine that could interpret motion with the same degree of precision. The EaganMatrix continuously analyzes gestures and processes this data instantly to intimately control synthesis parameters. This allows for an organic connection between the player & the instrument, similar to a player’s interaction with an acoustic instrument.

Osmose features various connectivity options to help you in live and studio settings. The Osmose back panel contains L/R 1/4” jacks, two pedal inputs, a MIDI In/Out combo, and a USB port. A headphone jack socket with its own volume control is also featured on the front panel.external midi.
Use Osmose as a MIDI controller to unlock the true potential of your favorite synthesizers. Connect to any soft or hardware synthesizers using Osmose's MIDI In/Outs and USB ports. Even if your synthesizer does not respond to polyphonic aftertouch or MPE, Osmose can still control it.
How to control your gear with Osmose → Using Osmose as MIDI controller
poly aftertouch and global pitch bend: Control your synth with Osmose’s Initial Pressure system & Poly Aftertouch. Every key can also control the global pitch bend of your synth.
piano mode: You may not always need added expressivity. If needed, Osmose can act as a classic keyboard controller, sending simple velocity messages.
standalone configuration: Set up your MIDI configuration directly from the in-built screen, without the need to connect to a computer.

We have developed a custom operating system to translate the power of both the EaganMatrix sound engine and the A.K.A.. keybed into a fun & user-friendly experience.

Osmose’s in-house OS facilitates sound creation. No endless menu browsing, no constant “shift button” operating - we boiled down the feature set to its quintessence & added to the mix a large color screen, 500 macro-loaded presets, and efficient categorization.

Discovering Osmose is just plain fun. There will of course be a few wild bends at the beginning, but after a few minutes only, your playing will be at home and enhanced. Experiment with various gestures & twist every preset your own way - learning Osmose is a simple, rewarding journey.

With Osmose, it's easy to customize the timbres, textures, and effects of all presets. Give macro controls a simple twist to tweak multiple pre-mapped parameters at once. Each preset is equipped with macro controls to generate deep, satisfying changes without effort.

Proudly designed in France, Osmose boasts a stealth black casing & signature key stems that will both please crowds and stand the test of time. Made out of rugged materials and assembled in a solid glueless design, Osmose is a road & studio-ready instrument.
ecodesign commitment.
To make Osmose more sustainable, we laid out a complete eco design plan, taking all steps of its lifecycle into account:
- Osmose is made of 66% recycled materials
- Its components are assembled without glue, meaning Osmose can be disassembled completely with only two commonly-found screwdrivers
- Expansive resistance procedures were conducted to test the product in tough contexts
- An auto-diagnostic tool was developed for Osmose to help solve customer support requests more efficiently & reduce unnecessary shipments
