Demedash Effects' description of the Demedash Effects T-120 Videotape Echo DELUXE V2 pedal

The Sound of Nostalgia (On Steroids)

Worn

Inspired by the garbled audio that accompanies worn-out and poorly aged budget bin video tape, the T-120 Videotape Echo gives you exactly the type of sound that you're hearing in your head when you look at it.

Warm

Feed your guitar through the T-120, and the recorded playback will be the sound of low bandwidth tape being fed haphazardly through a magnetic read head by an uncalibrated, unbalanced feed mechanism.

Wavering

The T-120 v2, introduced in June 2020, introduces soft switching and two new LFO parameters - 'Glide' & 'Randomize', accessible by holding the footswitch down while the effect is engaged and turning the 'Depth' & 'Speed' Knobs, respectively.

Wonderful

The 4 modulation controls: Depth, Rate, Glide & Randomize let you sculpt the pitch wavering flutter like nothing else. From organic, wandering tape flutter to glitchy pitch jumps, the only hard part is deciding which setting you like best.

All the tape-worn sounds of the T-120 Videotape Echo v2 with some useful add-ons for those that need to cover more ground.

  • Tap Tempo with 4 Selectable Subdivisions

  • Echo trails (user-configurable, can be turned on or off)

  • Momentary self-oscillation switch for on-demand chaos

  • Stereo outputs for a wide depth of field, with left outputting Dry + Wet and right outputting Dry - Wet.

  • 4 modulation parameters give you ultimate control over how your delay is warped.

Unprecedented Creative Control over Modulation

As with the Standard issue T-120 V2, the T-120 Deluxe v2 features two new secondary settings not found on the v1: Glide (under Depth) and Randomize (under Speed). These are used in conjunction with the two original controls to dial in how the v2’s modulation engine manipulates your delay signal.

  • Randomize allows you to control the ratio of periodic to random modulation output by the LFO. Dial in a steady, rhythmic wave, completely random modulation, or a mix of the two anywhere in between.

  • Glide smooths out the transitions of the LFO output, letting you take a periodic LFO from fully square to fully triangular, or a random LFO from a series of instantaneous jumps to a slowly varying, warbling smear.

Combined, these new controls give you access to random computery bleeps and bloops, the smoothly varying sound of an uncalibrated tape-head mechanism, the random drift of a pinched tape, or the wide, even up and down drift of a warped record.
