THE NEXT MEMBER OF YOUR MUSICAL PROJECT.
Crum Hum is a 3-voice experimental and expressive soundscaping instrument with generative, ever evolving melodic and harmonic creation.
• 3 melodic voices with expressive touch control
• 12 different Sound engines
• Generative & randomized melodic and chord generation
• 12 different Scales
• Delay, Reverb, Overdrive, LFO
• 3.5mm CV output
• 3.5mm Clock input
• Send and receive Midi sequencing and Midi CC.
CRUM HUM AS INSTRUMENT AND COLLABORATOR.
With master parameters that match those of the Crum Drum, you already have a familiar interface with which to create.
- Master volume
- Clock LED that indicates internal or external clock
- BPM that sets either master tempo or clock divisions when receiving external clock
- Play/pause button that starts or stops your sequence
THREE VOICES, LIKE TRIPLETS.
These three voices can sound how you want, and the identical controls for each keeps the interface simple and immediate.
- Touch pad for controlling volume and timbre
- Voice LED that indicates volume
- Latch button that keeps the voice's volume at its current state after being pressed, and when pressed again or volume is increased the latch function is released
- Frequency parameter which sets that voice's lowest frequency, and may be used to scroll through the selected scale and key
-
Random: When no clock is running this sets the range of randomization each time a new note is played. More RAND gives wider range of randomized notes. When a clock is running RAND sets the probability of a new note being played for each clock pulse. When RAND is turned all the way clockwise the voice will play a new note for each clock pulse.
SET THE TIMBRE AND SCALE, AND PRODUCE.
Tell your Crum Hum how you want it to sound.
- Set the key for all voices by turning the knob, and use the SHIFT key to go unquantized
- Choose from 12 different scales
- Select which of 12 sound engines you want by turning the TYPE knob (access the first six) and hold SHIFT to go through the second six
- When the clock isn't running, RAND sets the range width of tonal randomization each time a new note is played; when the clock is running, this sets the tonal randomization for each clock pulse
- Change the timbre / tone of the Crum Hum with TONE
ADD EFFECTS AND MODULATION FOR MORE FLAVOR.
The LFO can modulate several parameters, while the built-in effects play with space, time, and dynamics.
-
LFO controls include
- LFO RATE (its speed or rate)
- LFO MIX (its depth, or how much it modulates its destination/target)
- LFO DEST (its destination or target, which would be frequency, tone, or amplitude)
- LFO LED indicates its speed or rate
- DELAY with controls for time and mix
- REVERB with settings for size and mix
- DRIVE that affects the main mix
THE INS, OUTS, AND MIDI.
Receive power and MIDI via USB, and send MIDI via USB, as well. Each voice transmits data on a separate channel that you may leave with the default settings, or change via the interface. MIDI CCs may also be sent from your favorite controller or DAW to your Crum Hum. Audio connections (1/8" audio output), Clock In, and CV Out are also available.
