Light Reft's description of the Light Reft CONCRETE hybrid analog digital multi-effects processor
THE FINAL STAGE.
CONCRETE is a compact desktop instrument combining analog sound shaping, flexible routing, and precise digital control for studio and live performance environments.
CONCRETE is a stereo hybrid effects processor that combines digital sound engines with an analog signal path, designed for deep sound shaping and hands on control. It brings together distortion, saturation, filtering, and spatial processing in a single focused instrument for studio and live use.
Each channel can operate independently or in linked stereo mode, allowing precise control or expressive experimentation. Digital engines handle character, texture, and modulation, while the analog filter shape the sound physically, adding weight, movement, and depth that responds naturally to performance.
CONCRETE is built as an open and evolving system. Effect engines can be updated and expanded over time, letting the device grow with your music and adapt to different styles, setups, and workflows. MIDI over USB and TRS allows easy integration into modern and classic setups alike.
Rather than forcing a fixed workflow, CONCRETE encourages exploration. It works equally well as a subtle tone shaper, a creative effects unit, or a performance instrument. The more time you spend with it, the more it reveals, becoming a personal tool shaped by how you listen, play, and experiment.
FEATURES.
FILTER
Analog filter · Low pass · High pass
An analog filter with unified low pass and high pass control, designed as a primary sound shaping stage rather than a secondary effect. A single movement radically shifts the character of the signal, from dense and weighty to sharply filtered and tense. The filter remains stable and musical at extreme settings, enters resonance naturally, and maintains a controlled, confident response without compromise.
MIDI modulation allows the filter to act as an expressive instrument within sequencers, automation, and live performance setups.
DRIVE
Diode · Sin · Bitcrusher · Tube
DRIVE section features multiple distortion engines, each with a distinct response and behavior. These include tube style saturation, waveshaping based distortion, and digital degradation modes such as bitcrushing. Instead of fixed coloration, each engine reacts differently to the Drive and Character controls, allowing anything from subtle harmonic enhancement to heavily transformed and reshaped signals.
The DRIVE block is designed as an expandable system. Additional engines will be introduced over time, allowing the instrument’s character to be shaped freely, from warm vintage saturation to hard, modern distortion.
CONTROL
TRS MIDI · USB C · Flexible mapping
CONTROL defines how the instrument connects and adapts to your setup. TRS MIDI input and USB C provide full access to MIDI mapping, allowing any parameter to be assigned quickly and directly without relying on deep menus.
The system is built for fast reconfiguration. Controls can be remapped on the fly, making it easy to integrate the device with different instruments, workflows, and performance setups while staying focused on the music rather than the interface.
SYNC
Dual channels · Link
Each channel can be controlled independently or linked together to operate as a single stereo unit.
WORKFLOW
Studio · Performance · Final stage
Concrete is a desktop instrument for studio and live use that goes beyond a traditional effects processor. It can operate as a two channel summing stage with dense, high quality sound and a clear analog character, or function as an audio interface for laptop based performances where a compact setup still demands serious output.
Flexible effect routing, a master limiter, and precise input and output level control make Concrete a confident final stage in any signal chain. It brings small setups together, making them louder, tighter, and more expressive by combining analog weight with digital precision.
SUMMARY.
Concrete is a next generation compact effects processor that combines digital sound engines with a true analog stereo filter.
Each channel features its own analog high pass and low pass filters, designed for precise and musical sound shaping.
Several drive types come preloaded, including DSP drive, bit crusher, wave shaper, and tube style saturation.
Channels can be used independently or linked together for cohesive stereo processing.
Concrete supports full MIDI control and naturally pairs with Monolit as part of a unified studio and performance ecosystem.
In a future update, additional engines will be available for download from our website and can be loaded into free slots, allowing users to build a truly personal sound.
