Elektron's description of the Elektron Tonverk.
POLYPHONIC MULTISAMPLER AND AUDIO PROCESSOR.
This is a machine primed for adventure: a polyphonic multisampler and audio processor with 16 varied tracks covering multiple machines, polyphonic stereo sampling, multisampled instruments, tracks within tracks, flexible routing, and a kaleidoscope of effects and modulation. All able to harness the extended 256-step Elektron sequencer. All in one special box.

SONIC PATHFINDER.
Tonverk has eight audio tracks that can be utilized in different ways depending on where you want to take your sounds. There are a further eight tracks for buses, sends, and mix – all primed for relentless routing, putting a wealth of fresh FX flavors in your hands for use across the box. All 16 tracks have their own sequencer.
Tonverk heralds the arrival of another Elektron platform, the first device and certainly not the last. It joins our family of platforms, each offering hugely exciting opportunities that we can’t wait to explore and bring to life. You’re invited to enter a gateway to fantastic fun and experimentation. And, like all adventures, the beginning offers only a glimpse of what’s to come.
MEET THE MACHINES.
Three machines form the initial basis of Tonverk’s sound creation, plus another for MIDI.

Single Player is a Tonverk take on a polyphonic one-shot machine. Load, record, or drag and drop your stereo sample from your device, and play it back polyphonically. Find your start point, find your end, set your loop point, and smooth it out like butter with the crossfade parameter for seamless looping. Let a single tone run on into polyphoninfinity.
Multi Player lets you load a multisampled instrument. Various samples are spread out over the keyboard, full of melodic potential, and ready for your fingertips. The machine comes with several multisampled instruments covering plenty of flavors, and with the Auto Sampler you can of course create your own magic.
Subtracks offers you the chance to load a sample on every lower row key on Tonverk’s keyboard. This means one track is essentially eight Subtracks, each able to play their samples simultaneously. And every Subtrack has its own two filters, an amp envelope, and modulation. Load a curated set of samples or pick and choose what sound lives where. Why not have eight drum machines in your drum machine? The choice is yours.
SUPER SAMPLING.
There are two ways to sample with Tonverk. Recorder allows for straightforward audio sampling, externally or internally, in a way familiar to those who have used Elektron samplers before.

Tonverk’s Auto Sampler adds another layer of interest. Connect your MIDI gear and record whatever sound you like. Maybe it’s your favorite monophonic patch from elsewhere, magically made polyphonic, giving it a new lease of life. Decide how many notes and velocity layers you want to collect, start the recording, and let the machine do the work. You can even connect via USB, and sample from whatever app you have at your disposal.
ROUTING ADVENTURES.
Tonverk’s routing capabilities are huge. There are lots of places to begin your journey and countless directions you can head off in. Let one sound have its own unique adventure or bring tracks together for combined treatment. All of Tonverk’s tracks have their own routing. Its extensive, flexible routing setup allows you to direct sound from multiple sources to various destinations. You can also send audio out of Tonverk, process it externally, and bring it right back in. On the back of your machine you have four outputs and two inputs, and a headphone out that is also a routing option. Plus: MIDI In, Out, and Thru; two USB-C slots; and an SD card.
Here are a handful of ways Tonverk can send your sound on its own unique sonic journey:
RETURN TO SENDER.

Route SND 1 to OUTPUT CD and into tasty external effects. Then bring it back in through Input AB. TRK 1 becomes your FX fader whenever you want it using SND 1––crank and blend as you like.
TV DRIVE THRU.

Plug external gear into INPUT AB, send it to TRK 1, and routed onwards to BUS 1. That gear will now get access to some hearty TRK effects, as well as those prepped on your BUS and SND. Keep your different flavors apart by separating the BUS and SND from the MIX and sending the final dish out via OUTPUT CD.
FX MEGADIVE.

Stack insert effects on TRK and BUS, then layer on SND FX for extra spice. To offer even more options, the BUS can also take a detour via the SNDs. Funnel it all to MIX, where you can pile on even more insert FX.
P-LOCK TO RAINBOW ROAD.

Fill each bus with wicked FX, then Parameter lock trigs to be routed straight into them. Hit play, stay within the buses tweaking away, and hear the chaos only when the locks come around.
SUPER SIZED MIDI.

With TRK 1 as a MIDI track, send data out to your external gear, and straight back into TRK 1 via INPUT AB. A simple little loop giving that audio full access to FX, modulation, and sequencing––with seven tracks still free.
THE DUOLIST.

Send TRK 1 out through OUTPUT CD to two different external effects, then back into MIX through INPUT AB. Switch to dual mono, and tweak the pan to blend between FX options. P-lock and modulate your pan and routing for hands-free sonic juggling.
MASS FX.
Tonverk is an effects beast, giving you different options when it comes to what, where, and how you use the scores of effects on offer.

There are plenty of newcomers to work with as well: Rumsklang Reverb, Daisy Delay, Dirtshaper, Degrader, Chrono Pitch, Frequency Warper, Infinite Flanger, Phase 98, Filterbank, and Comb +/- are all eager to be explored, and are joined by some Elektron classics, and a bunch more filters.
MEGA MODULATION.
There’s modulation mayhem on offer on Tonverk, with LFO possibilities everywhere you look, letting you shape your sound as deeply as you dare to. Each of the eight audio tracks has two voice LFOs, two FX LFOs, and a Mod Envelope.

If you’re using the Subtracks machine, many of the modulation powers are usable per Subtrack. Every track or Subtrack has one filter envelope and one amp envelope as well. And if that’s not enough, each of your buses, sends, and the mix has two LFOs too, making for a crazy number of modulation options.
THE SEQUENCER, STEPPED-UP.
Tonverk boosts the Elektron sequencer to its biggest-ever size, with the possibility of 256 steps to put to use. And every single track has its own sequencer, meaning you can Parameter lock in all kinds of magical ways and granting you even more movement and control.

You can even P-lock the routing itself, letting you route your sound continuously or for just a split second. In fact, across the device, Tonverk has more Parameter lock potential than we’ve ever put in one box.
VERKSTATION.
In many ways, Tonverk could be your perfect Elektron workstation. Multisample your favorite piece of gear, and take it in unimaginable directions. Build your drum kits, build your instruments, save your presets.

Sequence your songs, route your sounds, and dive into plenty more features like arpeggiator, chord mode, song mode, pattern transitions, perform mode, and a selection of modulation sources that shine when connecting your external keyboard. And all of this from one box.
AUDIO DYNAMITE.
Tonverk is loaded with a diverse factory library packed with options to work across its machines. There are multisampled instruments, Subtracks instruments, single samples, and presets aplenty, providing a true springboard for your sonic escapades.
